ROUND 3 - PERSONAL GROWTH & EDUCATION What do you want to be when you grow up? You are an inventor after all.
An inventor is someone who invents something. Most people don't think of themselves as inventors, but that's exactly what we all are. We're inventing our life, one thought at a time. The most powerful force in the universe is the power of thought.
Think about it. Everything you see in the world was first a thought or idea in someone's mind. For example: a purse, a car, the light bulb, electricity, an ipod.
We all have been blessed with the gift of imagination. We all have unlimited potential to be, do and to create whatever we want. You have the power to create your reality one thought at a time.
Who do you want to be? What great thing do you want to accomplish? How do you want to serve the world?
These are the questions that everyone, deep down, is asking. Everyone has a personal ministry. It's through a mindful practice of paying attention to your thoughts that you can lay claim on your unique life.
Science has found that the average person has around 60,000 fleeting thoughts a day. Most of them are repetitive, dwelling on the past or worrying about the future.
Keep the mind on this present moment. In this moment, you have the power to invent yourself. Meditation is a powerful tool to help train your mind.
What are you passionate about? What excites you? This is how you will find where your gifts, talents and contributions wait. Your personal ministry is waiting to be discovered.
Don't make money your bottom line. People should be the bottom line. Don't make acquisition of things your bottom line. Joy and passion for life should be the bottom line. Your service to humanity and the fulfillment of your destiny should be the bottom line.
Joyfully and thankfully, education is a lifelong process. Every day is a new opportunity to explore your potential and stretch beyond your self-perceived limitations.
My favorite movies growing up were the 'Indiana Jones' movies and the 'Star Wars' series. It's no wonder that these heroic movies are box office hits. They are symbolic of our own glorious adventure through life.
Develop a habit of constantly exploring yourself. Life gives you endless opportunities to perform an archaeological excavation of yourself. Ask yourself, 'Who am I and who do I want to become?'
Try a new class. Join a new club. Go see a performance at your local opera or theatre.
Take an art, dance or music class. Do something different. Get involved. Discover yourself as you meet others.
Enjoy your journey as you make a mark in the world.
Be a champion of human possibilities and discover your potential. Claim your unique life. Your greatest gift is the power of imagination. So go ahead. Invent yourself.
You have one life to live. Live it fully. Make a conscious choice, every single day, to learn something new about yourself, to explore an uncharted area of your psyche. Mary Oliver said, "What are you going to do with this one wild and precious thing called life?"
