ESPN's Howie Schwab takes time after the ESPY Awards to answer my questions on America 's Pastime (baseball), America 's Passion (football), and his thoughts on the ESPYs .
Baseball's All-Star Game is over. It took a whopping 15 innings to settle the game. Should there be a time limit or let it play on?
I felt the All-Star game should have been stopped...imagine if the American League didn't win in the 15th? What if J.D. Drew or David Wright pitched and got hurt? Or if they hit someone and injured a player? It was an exhibition. The World Series host shouldn't be decided by the result of an exhibition. They tried to have a winner and putting players in a dangerous situation makes no sense
Yankees Stadium is going to be torn down at the end of the year. What's one of your favorite memories from "the house that Ruth built"?
The Chambliss home run versus the Kansas City Royals is one and there were many others.
Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre's saga continues on. Is he going to come back or will he finally file retirement papers?
I don't honestly know how the Favre thing will play out. I am not surprised he wants to play again. I don't blame the Packers for not releasing him. If he went to the Minnesota Vikings or Chicago Bears you would have to face him twice. I feel for Aaron Rodgers as he deserves his opportunity.
Who in the National Football League is going to have a huge turnaround this year?
St. Louis will turn things around if Steven Jackson stays healthy. The New York Jets will be improved too.
Your thoughts on this year's ESPY Awards.
The ESPYs were a lot of fun. There were a lot of tough categories. Trinity could have won best play for 15 laterals. Best team had several good candidates. Best upset was tough as Appalachian State could have won.
