MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL MADNESS

I am a fan of both Monday Night Football, especially when the New England Patriots are on and of the show Desperate Housewives.

So when ABC and Monday Night Football had man-stealing Edie, as played by Nicolette Sheridan trying to seduce Terrell Owens in what was supposed to be the Philadelphia Eagles locker room, I got the idea of the skit.

The stars were making fun of their show.

From the reaction of some people, one might have thought hell had frozen over and flying pigs were breaking the sound barrier.

People were calling ABC to protest and once again the NFL, aka the No Fun League, had to apologize again to the fans and possibly pay a fine to the FCC.

I'd like to know does the FCC make all those news stations like Fox and CNN apologize for showing us murder, mayhem and all the bombings in Iraq?

No. So why is everybody getting excited over Nicolette Sheridan jumping into T.O's arms?

It wasn't that big a deal not from a league that gives us the Coors Lite Twins, cheerleaders wearing next to nothing in the freezing cold, and endless commercials on how men can spice up their sex lives.

From living here on the west coast, an hour or so from Los Angeles, we have it a lot worse.

The San Fernando Valley is the "porn capital" of the United States.

As an African American woman, I am very upset that Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy would even bring up the race card.

This isn't a racial thing, so don't make it one.

Dungy should be worried about his players.

Owens's teammate, Donavan McNabb, who is African American himself, didn't find the skit racial so why should anyone else, African American or otherwise?

At 6pm , people here on the west coast are too busy fighting traffic and each other on the freeways.

On the east coast and Midwest, children should be getting ready for bed, not saying "Are you ready for some football?"

The league is constantly issuing apologies after apologies for things that they should have had some control over.

Did someone from the league office see the skit before it hit the airwaves?

If so, did they say, "some people may get upset at this, let's not put it on."

We really need to lighten up here and get our priorities straight.
