Week 13 – The Crystal Ball Says
Femmefans and football fans we are fast approaching the end of the regular season.
With only 5 games left for 30 teams (4 for the Saints and the Falcons), this week’s slate has important playoff implications.
I am making my bold ”The Crystal Ball Says” week 13 picks below. I am also providing links (below) to picks made by Barabara Bruno, Huffington Post and the ESPN Experts.
Enjoy week 13 and check back next week for another installment of “The Crystal Ball Says”.
Week 13 Picks
Niners at Rams
This will be Kap’s third game as the starter. He rallied the Niners when the Rams played at Candlestick in his first role as the back-up. Now he has to face them in St. Louis. The Niners are missing running back Kendall Hunter and wide receiver Kyle Wiliams, these players were importnat contributors to the team.. The Rams have nothing to lose and will be coming after The Kid.
This game is huge for the Niners. They need to stay ahead of the other NFC contenders in order to secure the second seed in the NFC. I think this will be a close game and Kap will need to show just how special he is. I think he is special and will find a way to pull this game out at the end.
Browns at Raiders
The Browns are improving, the Raiders are getting worse.
Seahawks at Bears
The Seahawks are in the hunt for a playoff spot. The Bears have the Packers chasing them. Lots on the line for both teams in this game. The Seahawks are a talented team and Russell Wilson has been excellent, but home field advantage will prove too much for the Seahawks.
Vikings at Packers
Another game with playoff implications. The Packers were early season favorites, but have had to deal with injuries and a less than stellar defensive effort.
They won’t let the Vikings beat them at Lambeau.
Panthers at Chiefs
The Chiefs have the worst record in the league at 1-10. The Panthers are not much better at 3-8. But the Panthers have shown heart and Cam Newton is still a play maker.
Texans at Titans
Houston is arguably the most balanced AFC team. With a record of 10-1 they sit atop their division and are ranked number one in the Playoffs.
Cardinals at Jets
The Cardinals are the tonic for what ails the Jets. The Cardinals quarterback situation is ridiculous. The Jets quarterback situation is tenuous. Not much more to say about these teams.
Colts at Lions
The Lions have been a real disappointment this season with a 4-7 record. It’s hard to understand why they aren’t playing well. Same quarterback, same coach, same wide receiver. The Colts on the other hand are winning games with Andrew Luck and have a shot at the playoffs.
Jaguars at Bills
Two underachieving teams, Jags at 2-9 and the Bills at 4-7, they are at the bottom of their divisions with no shot at the post season. Home field goes to the Bills.
Patriots at Dolphins
Pick Dolphins – Upset
I’m calling an upset here. The Patriots are the better team and they have Brady. But I think the Dolphins are getting better and their defense will win the game.
Tampa Bay at Denver
Pick Tampa Bay – Upset
Another upset. The Bucs are a very physical team and will disrupt Manning’s timing.
Bengals at Chargers
The Chargers are floundering. What has happened to this perennial winner? Philip Rivers where are you? Norv Turner is on the hot seat (as he should be) and players are waiting until the season ends.
Steelers at Ravens
No Ben, no Polamalu, no chance.
Eagles at Cowboys
The Eagles have crashed and burned. They may put up a fight against their division rivals, but the Cowboys are still looking to get into the playoffs while the Eagles are looking for a new coach and a new beginning.
Monday Night Football
Giants at Redskins
Pick Redskins - Upset
The Giants are 2 1/2 point favorites in this road game. As good as the G-Men looked last week they still seem to be vulnerable in their division and Shanahan and RGIII are going to exploit their weaknesses.
Thursday Night Football
Denver at Raiders
Pick – Denver
