Making a Mockery of the Draft and Big Ben’s Big Johnson

Big Ben Binges
I can’t keep silent anymore.
The antics of Big Ben, who apparently either has, or think he has, a gold plated Big Johnson, have finally derailed his celebrity ride.
In the world of “He Said”, “She Said”, it is fair to conclude that the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
But the 28 year old two time Super Bowl quarterback seems to have been looking for love in the wrong places and with the wrong people at least twice that we know of. The Commissioner did the right thing by humbling Ben and intervening. The allegations made against him, even if they are unsubstantiated point out a serious problem in Ben’s character. Whether his actions are alcohol inspired or not, his judgment has been flawed to say the least.
Ben allegedly told the sorority girls to, “Bitches take my shots!” I thought Ben was long past college orgies and binges.
If, as some rumor mills predict, Big Ben is traded to the Raiders, Rams or some other bottom feeding team, then his punishment will truly define Commissioner Goodell’s tenure and his stated commitment to cleaning up the Shield’s image.
Today the NFL holds its Draft.
I have always been amazed at how this non event-event has garnered so much interest and so much sports time and talk. If you aren’t a true die-hard the entire affair is mind numbing.
This year the extravaganza is on prime time. The first round will occur tonight, then the second round follows tomorrow. If your life is really boring you can watch the other rounds this weekend.
I must confess, that I have paid more attention to the NFL Draft this year than I ever have over the course of my 40+ years as an NFL fan.
One reason is that I crave any news, no matter how trivial and repetitious, about the NFL during the off-season.
The other is that I have watched a little more college footbball and recognize some college talent.
The last and most important reason is that I like to play craps and the draft is a huge crap shoot.
The talking heads have their mock drafts, some are now at mock draft 7.0.
I have just as good a chance as any of them to make up a Mock Draft.
Here are my draft picks for picks 1-15, after 15 I’m done with the Draft.
Rams – Everyone has Sam Bradford here, I agree.
Lions – Okung, best player for a building defense.
Bucs – McCoy – The new Warren Sapp
Redskins – CJ Spiller (shocking!)
Chiefs – Brian Bulaga
Seattle – Jimmy Clausen – Matt Hasselbeck’s days are numbered.
Cleveland – Eric Berry
Oakland – Oakland trades for Big Ben - Big Surprise!
Buffalo – Earl Thomas
Jacksonville – Kyle Wilson
Denver – Dez Bryant
Miami – Sergio Kindle
San Francisco – Joe Haden or Dez Bryant if he’s still on the board.
Seattle – Mike Iupati
NY Giants – Jahvid Best
With only 3 hours before the draft begins, I leave you with this thought.
Can the draft help your team get to the promised land? Don’t count on it and don’t be surprised if Big Ben gets traded to a team like the Raiders.

This guy is really lucky !
